Sensory Play

“Sensory play” is any type of play that stimulates one or more of your child’s senses. These types of play actually build nerve connections in the brain and can aid in self-regulation. Sensory play provides opportunities for exploration, experimentation, positive social interactions, and improves language, gross, and fine motor skills. It’s among my favorite types of play to implement with my kids!

On the Research Page, I have shared some links to give you more information about why sensory types of play are another uber-important component of your young child’s development. Below are specific sensory play experiences to try with your littles.

Check back here from time to time to see if there are new sensory play experiences added. I will be linking new material in my blogs, but I wouldn’t want you to miss anything!
