Musical Moments
“We don’t have to be “good” at music for our children to reap the immense benefits of integrating it into their lives. From the newborn days, music can physically change your child’s neurological pathways in beneficial ways. It can enrich their brains and their lives and it’s one of the easiest things we can do!”

Oh, I could go on and on and ON about all the wonderful things music does for the brain…not to mention the fact that it makes us want to MOVE! I use music with my littles to teach content (Shapes! Number! Days of the week!), build cultural literacy (familiar nursery rhymes! popular classical songs!), set routines (snack music! nap music!), manage time (We have one song to finish cleaning up!), exercise on rainy days…honestly I could chatter about this all day. Music, of so many varieties, is integrated into SO many aspects of our day. And every single time we use or enjoy music with these babies (and toddlers and preschoolers and children, teens and grown-ups) their brains physically benefit! Their blood pressures lower. Their ability to attend to things is improved. There is simply more joy.
On the Research Page, you will find links to information about how beneficial music - almost any type, utilized in any way - is for our children.
